Orchiectomy is a gender-affirming procedure for transgender women, non-binary individuals, and eunuchs that involves removing both testicles to reduce testosterone production or alleviate physical dysphoria.

Same-day discharge is often possible.

It can be performed alongside other gender-affirming surgeries such as breast augmentation, facial feminization, voice feminization, and thyroid cartilage reduction through collaboration with plastic surgeons and ENT specialists.

Hormone therapy adjustments are required after surgery.

Fertility preservation referrals are available upon request.
Some vaginoplasty techniques use scrotal skin. Long-term feminizing hormone therapy, puberty blockers, or prior orchiectomy can reduce the size and skin area of the scrotum. While vaginoplasty is still possible in most cases, even with reduced scrotal skin, we recommend consulting with our center before undergoing orchiectomy if you plan to have vaginoplasty in the future.
Transgender women may choose to undergo a range of surgical procedures, such as facial feminization surgery, breast augmentation, voice feminization surgery, thyroid cartilage reduction, and gender affirmation surgery. At the LGBTQ+ Center, we work closely with each patient thorough consultations to determine the most appropriate sequence of procedures. Whenever possible, we also offer the option of performing certain surgeries simultaneously through multidisciplinary collaboration, ensuring a coordinated approach to the overall transition process.
