At the 15th Research & Reconstruction (R&R) Forum hosted by the Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons (KSPRS) and held at Chonnam National University in Gwangju in May 2026, the Kangdong Sacred Heart Hospital LGBTQ+ Center research team delivered a presentation titled “Beyond Feasibility: Functional and Psychosocial Outcomes after Robotic Peritoneal Vaginoplasty in Asia.” The presentation shared clinical experience and research findings concerning functional outcomes and psychosocial changes following robot-assisted peritoneal vaginoplasty among Asian trans women. It also introduced the potential of robot-based minimally invasive surgery in gender-affirming healthcare and the importance of patient-centered treatment.
